What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient energy healing practice that originated in Japan. "Rei" means universal, and "ki," also known as Prana and Chi (Qi), etc, means life force energy. It is not bound by any form of religion, but operates within the laws of life force energy which flows through all of us, even non-living things.
Reiki is a system of natural and wholistic healing being that it addresses the emotional, the physical, the spiritual, and the mental which stimulates and supports the body to heal itself. The practioner uses certain hand placements and movements often focusing on the chakras as key points to channel "chi" to assist in rebalancing and restoring the energy within and surrounding the human body. This is ususally energy which has been diminished or set out of balance by stress, disease, depression, grief and so on. Here at Soulful Sage Healing we hold space for deep transformation, guiding you back to balance and alignment with your highest self.
What are chakras?
Chakras are energy centers in the body, rooted in ancient Indian spiritual traditions, particularly within Hinduism and yoga. The word "chakra" means "wheel" or "disk" in Sanskrit, referring to spinning focal points of energy that regulate physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. There are typically seven main chakras alighned along the spine, each associated with specific qualities, functions, and areas of he body. The chakras and meridians (energetic distribution network) are housed within our biofield which encompasses the aura, a vibrant energy field formed by the subtle body.
Chakras can become blocked when the natural flow of energy through these vital centers is disrupted. Trauma, consistent stress, grief, depression, physical issues or neglect, heavy metals and enviornmental toxins, spiritual disconnection and lifestyle imbalances are some examples of blockages. We are here to support your healing journey by clearing energetic blockages, balancing the chakras, and cleansing the aura for deeper peace.
What is meditation?
Meditation is an ancient practice, thousands of years old, in which we sit in stillness to cultivate self-awareness, inner peace, and a deeper connection to the spirit within. The earliest roots trace back over 5,000 years to tradtions in India, where it was central to Hindu and Buddhist teachings and over time spread across Asia and eventually the West.
Meditatiation offers a wide range of benefits for mind, body, and spirit: it can reduce stress and anxiety, lift mood, and optimisim, improve sleep, emtional stablity, and mental clarity, enhance focus, memory, and learning, lower blood pressure and inflammation, support immune function, relieve physical pain, and even promote ant-aging and increased brain matter.
At Soulful Sage Healing we honor the many paths of meditation-whether trhough visualization and guided imagery, chanting, or mantras, mudras, breathwork, or mindfulness-each offering its own way to restore balance and deepen inner peace.
